Light roast coffee is a coffee roasting method that produces light brown beans that have no oils on the surface.
These beans are allowed to roast up to a temperature between 350˚- 410˚ Typically, when roasting, beans pop at around 350 degrees, making a popping sound known as the “first crack.”
This sound serves as a notification that the beans have reached the light roast stage.
Other names used to refer to light roast coffee beans include Cinnamon roast, Light City Roast, or New England Roast.
