I am someone who takes my health & coffee very seriously. After investing in my own coffee machine for home, I was on the lookout for freshly roasted beans after experiencing 1 year old beans sold as fresh! Is It Worth Grinding Your Own Coffee At Home??

It all really comes down to whether you value you quality over convenience or vice versa. There's no doubt that grinding whole beans freshly before brewing has a significant upside in the cup flavour. The main benefits? You'll taste more complexity whereas pre-ground may taste a little more flat. When you grind coffee it immediately starts to deteriorate, oxygen reacts with compounds and oils in the grounds, the coffee begins to oxidise affecting both quality and flavour. However, if you're buying pre ground coffee in the uk 'little and often' it will certainly give you a decent cup.

The Wilfa Svart grinder is definitely one of the best home coffee grinders on the market. With a small footprint perfect for your kitchen counter, precise grind adjustments to make most brew methods coffee and of course a beautifully clean design, it's certainly one of the best value for money grinders you can buy.

Can the Wilfa Coffee Grinder grind for my particular brew method?

The Wilfa Svart can grind coffee for all common brew methods such as; Cafetière, Filter, Aeropress, Moka Pot, Cold Brew. It doesn't however grind fine enough for espresso.

Where are Wilfa Svart Grinders made?

They are manufactured in Italy, however we do stock the Wilfa grinder in the UK. The Wilfa Svart uses a flat burr system which are of particularly special quality and made of stainless steel which is great for achieving the perfect grind consistency at home.

Can the Wilfa Svart grind for espresso coffee?

Unfortunately this grinder isn't suitable for espresso grinding. However, if you're looking to make filter coffee at home the Wilfa Svart is one of best coffee grinders in the UK. If you have an espresso machine at home, you'll want to look at our range of Sage coffee grinders like the The Smart Grinder Pro or the The Dose Control.

How do you clean a Wilfa coffee grinder?

We're pleased to say, the Wilfa Svart is very easy to clean and maintain. The best way to clean it is by removing the hopper (rotate to the coarsest grind setting) then you can then remove the top burr set without the need to remove any screws. Simply use a vacuum to remove any coffee grounds. A brush can be used to remove excess oils. An occasional deep clean can be carried out using grinder safe cleaning pellets.

Does the Wilfa coffee grinder come with warranty support?

Absolutely. Wilfa offer a whopping 5 year manufacturers warranty.
